Frequently Asked Questions

  • Q: Can you cut timber?
A: Yes!, we can cut most items in our shop, including timber that you bring from home. Cutting services start at £5, depending on the specifics of what you need done, and we strive to complete these cuts while you wait. For large cutting orders or more complex tasks, the pricing is based on an hourly rate of £60. Given the nature of cutting orders, it’s best to either give us a call or pop into the shop to discuss your requirements. Please note that we cannot cut the following: - MDF - Chipboard - Tree rounds
  • Q. Do you sell scaffolding boards?
We do yes! We sell reclaimed scaffolding boards which we source from a range of suppliers. These are "retired" boards which means that they can no longer be used as scaffolding (we cannot and won't sell these to scaffolding companies). Scaffolding boards are are versatile, sturdy timber that can be used for a range of projects. We usually sell the standard 3.9m boards but often have shorter ones in stock. Full boards are £25 each or £6.50/m for anything shorter.
  • Q. Do you have parking?
A: Yes, we do have some onsite parking; however, it is limited. There is off-street parking available around the area, but please be aware that, as we are located in an industrial area, it can get very busy. Additionally, we occasionally have traffic wardens in the area, so we strongly advise against parking on double yellow lines. We recommend planning your visit accordingly to ensure you can find appropriate parking.
  • Q. How do you price your timber?
A: Most of our dimension timber is priced by the metre, with price lists displayed prominently around the shop for easy reference. We also have many marked bays to help customers find the pricing quickly. Typically, our timber dimensions are labeled in inches, such as 4"x 2". Please not that reclaimed timbers are rarely these exact measurements and we will decide which price bracket they fit into so you don't have to. The majority of our timbers are sold as seen, meaning you must purchase the entire piece rather than a portion of it. However, for our waney edged timbers, we do offer smaller cuts upon request. This approach ensures transparency in pricing and helps customers make informed purchasing decisions while supporting sustainable timber recycling practices.
  • Q: Do you offer picking service?
A: No, we aren't able to offer a picking service. We are a busy timber yard where tasks and priorities can change quickly. We prioritize the customers in our shop to ensure their safety as well as to provide a good customer experience. It is also important that you see and select the timber yourself so you know you have the perfect piece for your needs. We invite you to visit our yard and personally select the timber to ensure it meets your specific requirements. We are always happy to chat about this either via email or on the phone.
